“The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man.”” Charles Darwin

January frosts inspired the Algonquin Explorers to learn about animal life during the harsh winter. They also decided to help birds survive the two coldest months.

To start, the young researchers learned difficult words like “adaptation” and “hibernation”, built a winter den for a bear and its friends, and scattered delicious nuts for the always-hungry squirrels. Finally, they made simple bird feeders from pine cones, paper tubes, and other readily available materials. They had a great time doing it! See for yourselves!
